Here is the first diaper cover I have made. I was inspired by my friend Wendy, who knitted a pair of longies for Ruby. The wool wicks the moisture, and keeps it in the diaper- or at least that is the theory. I haven't put these to the test yet...

Here is one of a series of hats I worked on over the winter. This one is my favorite, although I made a dark green one as well. It is knit in Lamb's Pride Chunky, on #10.5 circular needles, and is rather cozy in the Puget Sound clouds.

These are the socks that I made for Sun back in February or so. He loves wearing them! Now that I am getting the hang of this, I am looking forward to making him some more, because they are so small & work up so quickly.

These are the latest project that I have been working on. It took me just about forever to work out the design of the toe- custom built :) The decreases on either side that I used for Sun's sock made my feet feel compressed, so I tried a different angle, so to speak. These socks are knitted with thoughts of my friend Lena, at who's house I worked & reworked so many rows.

The second of the set is working up quickly. I made a lot of progress at Grandma Helen's house. I hope to finish it soon so I can get started on a pair for Matt.

I finished a second set for Sun, as well. Maybe I will get a picture of those today. He is wearing them as I type...

Here is the Sunchild modeling my latest take on the chunky hat. I used some wool that I spun & dyed when I was living in BC. It was a royal pain to knit with- it really was spun with weaving in mind. The brim was dyed with saskatoon berries & the top is dyed with onion skins.

It is too big for the Sunchild, but the colors look better on him than they do on me.

This is a swatch I made just about forever ago. It was supposed to be a pillow, but whenever I would pick it up, it wouldn't be saying pillow.

So I finally decided to make it into a hat. It is a tad bit small, but I like it nonetheless. Surprisingly, it fits kind of nicely as a tam with all of my hair tucked up inside...

I did it! I made my first sock!I feel like I have been initiated into a secret society. I have reached a new level in knitting.

Now, I have to knit the other one.This is for the Sunchild. He tried it on today & liked it very much. This is a good sign, because he is inordinately picky about his socks.

I finally finished it!!!! It is wrapped & ready for christmas. Now, I am freed up to work on some smaller (and less time consuming) projects.Right now, I have started on a nice dark red hat for myself, made of bulky yarn, with cables. It is more than halfway finished, but I have no pictures yet.

this is the latest dishcloth. it has been a bit of a PITA to make, because it is a yule present for my MIL, and she is frequently here, so i always have to be aware of where it is so that she doesn't see it. luckily, it is now finished & can be put in the box of gifts that are accumulating for the holidays....

this is my second washcloth. i had to buy another ball of sugar & creme green to finish it off. i was orginally intending this for my MIL, but she was at the yarn store with me & showed me the yarn she really liked, so this cloth, which is actually a dishcloth, not a facecloth, is still a gift waiting for a person who it suits.

suits me. i like making them.

this is the first piece i have done in cotton. it was definitely a different sort of experience than wool. i like how quickly a washcloth works up. i think i may make more for solstice gifts this year. this one is for my mom's birthday.
